Professor Maxwell is a former Associate Senior Professor of Mathematics from Miami Dade College where she earned both Master Teacher and Advanced Cooperative Learning Educator certifications. In addition to teaching math courses, she also taught the Math portion of the college’s SAT-Preparation courses for the Community Education Department. During her tenure at the college, Maxwell wrote the first fully accredited college level Customer Service course in Florida history. She has also written and taught Customer Service courses for companies and organizations, including individualized programs for employees and managers. Miami Dade College subsequently retained her to write a customized course for its own employees. She taught college level courses in Airline Management and Operations, Aeronautical Physics, Aviation History and Career Planning. She formerly taught high school mathematics in Hyde Park, New York and Montessori Mathematics at a private elementary school in Miami. Prior to her contributions to the college, Maxwell was President of Inflight Service Systems, where she designed interior structural components for commercial and private aircraft including those of Tower Air and Donald Trump. Her previous employer was Pan American World Airways where she held the position of Director, Inflight Services and Dining Services. One of the most significant events during her decade at Pan Am was evacuating the American Embassy hostages and Bell Helicopter employees out of Teheran and Isfahan, Iran, after the fall of the Shah. She wrote curriculum and taught for the airline and has traveled extensively to every continent in the world. She served as airline spokesperson during the time of airline deregulation and mergers, traveling throughout the United States, giving live interviews for television, radio and newspapers and speeches before civic groups. She designed the galleys for the airline’s fleet of Airbus aircraft. Maxwell was raised in Rhinebeck, New York, a small community on the Hudson River. Serving as President of the Honor Society, she graduated from Rhinebeck Central High School with high honors and was invited back 15 years later as commencement speaker and recipient of the “Most Distinguished Graduate” award. Professor Maxwell and her husband moved to the Treasure coast in 2003, along with their rescued cat, Sammy. Mr. Maxwell, an architect, designed their new home in Martin County, which they now happily call home. They have one grown son and two grandchildren. Since settling in Stuart, Professor Maxwell began private tutoring of students in mathematics, FCAT, SAT and ACT Preparation. Maxwell-Private Math Tutor
An adjunct professor at Indian River Community College, Fort Pierce, Florida, Kilian has taught courses in composition and literature at the Chastain campus. Prior to co-founding National Education Consultants, Inc., Mrs. Kilian conducted private tutoring sessions for students in English, Critical Reading, and Writing to prepare them for success on the SAT. She continues to serve local students in these areas. While obtaining her masters, Kilian wrote and presented a paper at the CCCC, an annual competitive writing conference held in Minneapolis for composition specialists in the fields of composition and reading. Raised in Maryland and Pennsylvania, Kilian relocated to the Treasure coast area in 2001 with her husband and two children. Her husband is the general manager of Finz Restaurant in Stuart, Florida. |
